Mayan calendar

Somewhere I heard that the Mayan calendar ends in 2012, although another explanation is that it just starts over. Anyway, I wonder if the media is going to start putting that out there, kind of like the Y2K thing, and whether people will get hyped up about it. Any speculations out there?

AWESOME. I no longer have to worry about retirement. I'm cashing in my 401(k) and taking a trip!

Wow, that looks like a good movie! Is the department of homeland security going to transport us all to the moon?
I think it's a misunderstanding - their calendar is just a lot longer than our 12 month calendar. It's prolly a funny situation from their perspective, as if one might guess the end of the world would happen on the 31st of December based on our calendar.
